Hey guys, need one more reason to get outside and enjoy being active?

This article from Healthfinder.gov shows how far regular exercise can go toward lowering your risk of prostate cancer ... and even if you do eventually develop this disease, exercise is associated with a less aggressive form of it.

"U.S. researchers looked at 190 men who had a prostate biopsy and found that those who were moderately active -- anything equivalent to walking at a moderate pace for several hours a week -- were significantly less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer."

The majority (58 percent) of the men in this study were sedentary, which means they exercised less than the equivalent of one hour per week of easy walking.

So don't feel like you have to really become a super athlete to get the benefits of activity. Just get outside as often as possible and take a good walk, or some other activity that you enjoy.

Flight Home

It was just an incredible trip to the Obesity Help conference in
Dallas. The response to our work was SO enthusiastic, and my head
spins with the number of ways that we can really have a positive
impact on this population of patients.

I met Chef Dave, the bariatric chef, along with the dietician who
works with him. In addition to the work they're doing for bariatrics,
they're also making huge inroads into school cafeterias by making real
foods from real ingredients. They're even doing this in public
schools!! It us going to be a pleasure to work with them both.

In any case, there is a great need here for our lifestyle wellness
programs that teach healthy eating behaviors. For these people who
have made this incredible physical investment in their health status,
behavioral change is the only certain solution to make the initial
drastic weight loss permanent.

I will be speaking in one month in New York City, then the next month
on Atlanta at Obesity Help's other regional events.
