Sailing

Where ARE the winds??

Leaving True Blue bay at 7:30am, post-coffee, heading up the western coast of Grenada. We will get up to David Point at the top of the island, then we may actually get some wind. Right now it is dead, doldrums.

By hook or crook, by this afternoon we will reach Tyrell Bay on Carriacou.

Welcome

This was part of our welcome package. Rum and coke. Who (over 22 years old) still drinks that? I just look at it and my brain cell start dying.

A better (and more mature) use of the rum is in combination with pineapple juice, OJ, and fresh grated nutmeg ... Also known as a "pain killer". I only have these because the fruit juice is such a health food.

Morning view

First morning, waking up to this view. I love this. The night was calm so the rocking of the boat was like a freakin' cradle.

Today, can't go to the chocolate factory because they don't do tours any more. WHY?? Our cabbie on the way over here explained (read this with a heavy, Jamaican, no problem, accent):

"you see, man, there are these people .... Mainly Germans .... who have cologne that is so strong that it gets into the factory and goes RIGHT into the chocolate."

Damn Germans. So I think we are going to the rum factory in stead. Sailing starts tomorrow morning.

At Lucia stop

Waiting on the ground in St. Lucia for other passengers. One more stop in St. Vincent, then on to Grenada and my bed!!

Going on vacation

Waiting in the Atl airport for our flight to San Juan. We already travelled from Pittsburgh, at 6:00, so had to go on an emergency foraging run to Starbucks.

On the plane, waiting for the 3:45 min ride. Travel wears you out ... Does that make me old?
